Matanuska Glacier Trekking

From USD $249.00
  • Duration: 9 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: Anchorage, Alaska
  • Product code: GLCMAT

The Matanuska Glacier, the only vehicle accessible glacier near Anchorage. Come enjoy over 2 hours directly on the glacier with a multi lingual glacier guide by your side.  Explore blue meltwater pools, the ice formations and deep crevasses.

We equip our guests with crampons that attach to your shoes. Wear sturdy shoes and bring an extra pair of socks. Your shoes might just get dirty with glacial flour.  This is rock ground into fine powder by the glacier – it makes amazing fractals in the pools and river!

This tour requires 2 hours of walking. Our fully-guided transportation includes a pick up at your hotel, with complimentary water and snacks in the vehicle  as well as a lunch stop to enjoy local fare.

You will return to Anchorage by 6:30 pm.

Please make sure you indicate which hotel you would like to be picked up at in your order.

There are three choices: Captain Cook, Holiday Inn Express and Dimond Center Hotel. Pick-up time will between 9:30-10:00 am depending on the number of guests and our operator will contact you directly to confirm the time.
